This is a unique and well preserved “Samurai Trunk for Official Possessions (gojo nagamochi) according to a similar representation in the book “Traditional Japanese Cabinetry TANSU” by Ty & Kiyoko Heineken. Believed to be Meiji era trunk. Wood is probably paulownia with metal hardware, including side handles. Key is not included but front hardware is open, unlockable and can be latched. Perfect for storage or other purposes. Convenient size of 31 inches by 17 inches by 10 inches high.
