Vintage Design
Italian table center of the early twentieth century, from Pisa. Alabastro whole body, made of 3 assembled pieces (base, central column and upper source). The whole piece is worked by hand, representing vineyard leaves and gaums of grapes at the top and intertwined dolphins in the trunk part. The alabaster vein is present throughout the piece, which gives it different tones as the light gives.
The alabaster is a warm and cold material at the same time, beautiful like marble but at the same time ductile and malleable like wood, translucent like opaline, which plays with the light filtering by its veins allowing to create decorative elements of all kinds characterized by a structural and perceptual lightness.
It should be noted that, due to the antiquity of the piece and the fragility of alabaster, it presents some fouls and small restorations, but that does not dissipate the great beauty of it.
