Vintage Design
The vase is artfully decorated with floral motifs that have been applied by hand. The design is typical of the Viennese Art Nouveau period. At the turn of the 20th century, the Ernst Wahliss factory was one of the most important handicraft factories for faience products in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The manufactory owes its great success to Ernst Wahliss. So he and his chemists expanded the range of ceramic glazes to include several colors, including gold. Ernst Wahliss worked with famous designers of his time. These included Otto Prutscher, Emile Galleé and Hans Bolek. The ceramics were presented and sold in Vienna, London, Paris and Berlin.
