A stunning deep purple amethyst cluster with unusually high peaked crystals on metal stand. The polished frame shows mineral layers developing from the rough basalt, to the grey/blue agate, jasper, a thick layer of white quartz and finally to the deep purple amethyst crystal. This multi-color frame composed of different minerals intensifies the deep purple tone of the amethyst and the different sizes of its amethyst crystals.
The shape resembles a “brick of amethyst” or an “open mouth”, and is striking in appearance.
The back of the piece retains its rough basalt condition, and the sculpture is a very decorative, displayed on a custom metal stand.
This piece was legally and ethically sourced directly in the prestigious mines of Uruguay, South America. Uruguayan amethyst is internationally recognized as being the finest and most aesthetic amethyst in the world, due to its intense deep purple coloration, the large size of its peaked crystals, and its durability. These crystals were formed over 120-140 million years during the Cretaceous period, and as all of our pieces are formed naturally, they are completely unique and unrepeatable natural wonders of art.
